Repairs and Restorations
Passing down your Maloof heirloom to a new generation? Or just want to freshen up a worn or sun bleached piece of Maloof furniture you plan on keeping around for years to come?
Using Sam Maloof Woodworker Inc. to repair, refinish, reupholster or relace leather thongs on your vintage Maloof furniture, assures that it will be restored properly, bringing the piece back to its original elegance and helping to maintain its value for years to come.
Preliminary estimates can be made by phone or email. However, a final assessment will be made once the piece arrives. At that time we will evaluate it and determine exactly what repairs will be needed.

This walnut coffee table arrived to us with a broken leg and was severely sun bleached. We duplicated the leg and gave it a complete restoration to bring it back to its original condition and color.
"To Whom it May Concern,
In my 20 years of experience, it is clear that a sympathetic restoration helps make Sam Maloof pieces more appealing to the broadest possible segment of bidders at auction. More often than not, good quality restoration increases the sale value by MORE than the cost of the restoration. While one cannot predict what pieces will ultimately sell for in today's market, I am confident that the cost of the restoration is a wise investment. Auction houses, and design specialists, are happy to disclose to their potential buyers that the same team that worked with Sam Maloof to create the pieces, were used in the restoration process.
Restoration by Sam Maloof Woodworker has always carried a certain amount of "weight" with Maloof collectors. The studio has a stellar reputation and are known for bringing Maloof's historically important pieces "back" to its pristine and original condition. By employing Sam Maloof Woodworker to do the work, the value of the pieces are enhanced and not diminished which may happen in the hands of the less knowledgeable restorer."
